Back in action with a very, very delayed mixtape that rounds out a few late finds from 2015 and new joints from the past three months. Indie pop/folk tunes from The Lumineers, Moon Taxi and Modern Space kick off the set right before an upbeat section of electronic-inspired selections from the likes of Gryffin, AlunaGeorge and Matoma. The rest of the mix dabbles in indie rock (White Denim, Caveman), retro sounds (Lake Street Dive, Eli Paperboy Reed) and reflective cuts (Day Wave, Lola Marsh, Radical Face). Brooklyn synthpoppers Chairlift claim my favorite track of the mix though as vocalist Caroline Polachek glides over the duo’s peppy groove on “Moth To A FLame”.
